You're invited to worship with us!

Sunday, January 17 at 10 AM either in-person in the Sanctuary or live on our Facebook page.
Our Youth Group wanted to do something this week to be like the Jesus found in the Bible. The group decide to each bake cookies and bring them to church this Sunday, pre-wrapped in zip-loc baggies. We will write notes of encouragement and blessing and include with each bag. Bags will be made available for worshippers to take on Sunday to give away to someone who needs encouragement.
Thank You, youth, for being Jesus this week!
~ Young Adults ~

Young Adults will meet every Sunday at 4 PM via Zoom. Look for an email from Pastor Brian for the link information.

Wednesday Night Bible Study

For the months of January and February, our Wednesday night focus will be a series on Apologetics. The Bible encourages us to defend our faith: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” (1 Pet. 3:15). That’s the point of apologetics—to explain our hope in Christ to others. The series is framed from the perspective of mission trip preparation.

Jan. 13 - First Things First - Jesus
Jan. 20 - Truth - What is it?
Jan. 27 - Faith in Culture
Feb. 3 - Resurrection
Feb. 10 - Testimony
Feb. 17 - Unbending Truth
Feb. 24 - So What? Where Now?
Sunday Recreation

Recreation online is not the same as kickball or 9-Square outside, but still creates laughs and smiles. Join in on Sunday's at 5:00 pm for some fun. Here are the tentative plans for the next few weeks. The link will be sent later this week.

Jan. 17 - Escape Room
Jan. 24 - Box of Lies
Jan. 31 - Pictionary
Feb. 7 - Super Bowl Sunday - TBA
Feb. 14 - Valentines Party
Feb. 21 - Surprise Host
Feb. 24 - Charades

Parents, I hope you will encourage your teen to join in each week!

No Name-Calling Allowed: helping young people understand the power of labels in an otherizing world

These are extraordinary times in the lives of our teenagers. Continue giving your teens space to process and ask hard questions in a safe space. Extra credit if you can do so and resist the urge to explain it away! While written months prior to last week's siege on the capitol, this article from Fuller Youth Institute provides some helpful guidance to parents and youth leaders!

Project FIGHT

Over 4,000 cases of human trafficking have been reported in the Carolinas since 2007.
More than 65% of them were trafficked for sexual purposes.
More than 30% of these victims were minors.
The youngest clients in Project FIGHT are just eleven years old.

The Salvation Army in the Carolinas has been fighting for those impacted by human trafficking since 2011 through Project FIGHT. Through partnerships and relationships with state and local government, law enforcement, and other agencies, The Salvation Army is able to provide comprehensive case management to survivors of human trafficking.
