Helping First Mariel Church in Cuba
With the vision to make new disciples and establish a global missional presence, New Hope has been partnering with the Western Cuban Baptist Convention since spring of 2019. Specifically, we've supported First Mariel Church of Mariel Bay, and deployed 3 separate teams of 38 people to serve the church for the construction of their education building and in sharing the Gospel of Christ to their community. On our trips, we discovered loving people, and an incredibly faithful church body who wants to reach their neighbors with the hope of Jesus!
With the rise of COVID-19, New Hope was greatly limited in partnering in-person, but through the Southern Baptist and the Western Cuban Baptist conventions, we have been able to generously give financially to their Church, and assist them in rising above what has been the most challenging years for Cuba's economy.
This fall, New Hope has been given the opportunity to travel to Cuba for the first time in over 2 years to make a resource trip to First Mariel, bringing them vital items. From basic necessities such as toothpaste, tooth brushes, and soap to eye glasses, flashlights and pain medication -- our team is loaded and ready to help with supplies and encouragement for our brothers and sisters in Christ abroad.
Please be praying for our New Hope team as they travel to Cuba Oct. 21-24. From flight schedules, to easy entrance with supplies, to the right spoken word at the right time, we pray for a smooth and impactful trip!
A HUGE thank you to Hope Groups who have generously given to this resource trip by purchasing needed items! If you would like to help contribute supplies for this trip, which are even more urgently needed due to the recent hurricane, you can purchase supplies through our Amazon Wish List ("For Friends in Mariel").
