New Hopers Spreading Christmas Love
Christmas stirs all the feelings of joy, excitement, anticipation, love for others, and thankfulness. It's easy to pour our love onto those we cherish during this time of year. But as receivers of the greatest gift and news the world has ever known, we are called to gift that love to those who do not know.
This Christmas season, New Hopers have been putting their love for Jesus into action. From the oldest to the youngest in our church family, generosity is flowing. Here are a few examples:
--several Adult Hope Groups collected items for our homebound church members, and volunteers wrapped and delivered these gifts
--members of the McClung Hope Group have met a few needs for a Partners in Hope client, and invited that person to their Christmas fellowships
--members of the Duffer Hope Group sponsored six kids from the Texas Baptist Children's Home with Christmas gifts
--members of the Pate Hope Group have purchased Gifts of Hope through Samaritan's Purse (contributions for cleft lip mending treatments, marriage retreat for military couples, helping women in war-torn areas receive counseling and learn a trade to make money for their family)
--members of the Casper Hope Group have volunteered at Reveal Resource Center, passing out Thanksgiving meals, and several families have regularly volunteered with Partners in Hope and their monthly work projects
--members of the Testone Hope Group have helped with construction and outreach projects for Ridgetop Church, and have assembled gift bags for teachers at Bagdad Elementary
--members of the McMahan Hope Group have sponsored two families through Trotter House.
--Mission Kids put together 100 Bags of Grace (supply bags for the homeless)
We know there are so many others in our church B.L.E.S.S.-ing their neighbors, co-workers, teachers, etc. The spirit of generosity is like a wild fire in our church, and we are eager to see how God will use our love and efforts to draw people to Himself. Thank you for giving out of your love for the Lord; we pray for the fruit to come from your sowing.
