Bowers & Wilkins 801 D4 Reviewed

Online reviewer, Andrew Robinson, reviews the Bowers & Wilkins 801 D4 Signature loudspeakers. He reports right off that the Signature version is more than cosmetic... each detail of the speaker has been carefully analyzed. Everything from the cabinet itself, the crossover, the woofer, and the top plate housing the tweeter. There are also two new finishes along with a new color matched leather. 

The speakers response of 15 Hz to 22kHz at 90 dB effeciency. He recommends using them with real power since they will reflect the amplifiers capability. Placing the Signatures in the room at least 18" from the back wall and in a roughly equilateral triangle withe the listening position. They also disperse signal well and favor the speaker pointed straight ahead. He liked them best with the grills off. Off axis the speaker is very linear. He described the listening experience as holographic.
