Welcome Mr. Jon Duncan

New Director of Athletics & Student Activities

Indian Hills High School

June 29, 2022

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jon Duncan as the new Athletic Director of Athletics & Student Activities of Indian Hills High School. Mr. Duncan distinguished himself among a talented pool of applicants through multiple rounds of a competitive and comprehensive interview process that included committee members from the administration, supervisors, teachers, boys’ and girls’ athletic coaches from all three seasons, student activities advisor, and a representative from the school’s parent organization.

Mr. Duncan made a strong impression due to his concrete and comprehensive plan for engaging past, present, and future Braves and the boundless and infectious passion he exudes when discussing the critical role that high school athletics and activities play in the pride and culture of a school community. A cornerstone of his vision is a commitment to strengthening the bonds between the Indian Hills Athletic Program and the recreational athletic programs of Franklin Lakes, Oakland, and Wyckoff. This is in addition to his dedication to strengthening the connections between Indian Hills High School and the entire FLOW community.

Mr. Duncan has established himself over sixteen years as an educational leader, whose career has included roles as an administrator, teacher, and coach prior to serving as the athletic director for the past seven years in Bergen County. As a coach, he led his baseball team to three sectional titles in four years and seven league titles in ten years, while gaining experience connecting interscholastic athletes to collegiate programs and recruiters.

Mr. Duncan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Seton Hall University, a Masters of Art in Teaching from New Jersey City University, and an Advanced Degree as School District Leader from Long Island University. He is looking forward to meeting the staff, students, and community of the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District and FLOW community as he begins his new role in August.

All my best,

Dr. Rui Dionisio
