New-Indy Makes Donation in Memory of Late Employee

Fund Set up in Frazier Baldwin’s Name for Forestry Association’s Log A Load for Kids 2023 Campaign

New-Indy Catawba has donated to the Forestry Association of South Carolina’s (FASC) Log A Load for Kids 2023 Campaign. The donation was made to honor the life of longtime mill employee Frazier Baldwin, who passed away in April following a courageous battle with cancer. Baldwin was New-Indy’s operations procurement manager and was active in the forestry industry as a Log A Lod Area Coordinator.

Log A Load for Kids began in 1988 when loggers and others in the forest products community donated the value of a load of logs to their local Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital. Today, Log A Load is a leader in CMN Hospitals’ fundraising, collecting more than $2 million annually through golf tournaments, fishing events, dinners, truckloads-of-logs donations and other events. The 2023 Log A Load for Kids South Carolina Campaign has raised more than $700,000.

After a busy stretch in the first quarter of 2023, lunch gave everyone a chance to refocus. Outback Steakhouse cooked and the management team helped serve employees. All 425 employees were fed during the mill’s four shifts.
