Child Development Center
The ACCA Child Development Center was busy this summer with 245 children enrolled in addition to the start of a summer camp program. Staff from the Fairfax County Public Library visited the center and the Reading is Fundamental group provided books and backpacks for the children. Students visited Wolf Trap Children's Theater in the Woods to enjoy a performance and music enrichment started in all of the 4 year old classes. |

Homework Club
ACCA is continuing its Good Neighbor project with Lutheran Social Services and we are looking forward to the fall.
We will begin to offer more structured direction to volunteers in working with parents and students who are non-English speakers. To help with this, we held a training session specifically for volunteers who will help parents with their English skills as well as tips on tutoring children and youth. On September 28, we will kick-off our fall sessions which will be the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.
For further information or to volunteer, please contact Nadia Fitzcharles (nadia@sharingpeace.org) or Carol Weber (caroljeanweber@hotmail.com).
