Hello New Triton!,

Welcome to UC San Diego! The International Students & Programs Office (ISPO) is excited to welcome you to campus very soon. We are here to help you navigate the ins and outs of your program as a graduate student. Let's get started!
I-20/DS-2019 Issuance During Coronavirus
During this time of uncertainty, we will continue to keep you  updated on important developments  as it relates to your arrival at UC San Diego this fall, and we will continue to keep  ISPO advising services  open to you all.
With that in mind, please be aware that ISPO is continuing to issue visa documents as normal (I-20s and DS-2019s). Please make your document request via the  iPortal  as soon as possible so that we can process this for you in a timely manner.
NOTE:  Though Immigration and Customs Enforcement released guidelines allowing the issuance of electronic I-20s, further clarification of these guidelines established that this only applies to certain situations. Use of an  original  I-20 and DS-2019 is required for both visa issuance and for international travel. However, in order to help you book your visa appointment more quickly, ISPO can email you your SEVIS ID prior to sending your document to enable you to do this. If you would like this emailed to you, please make a note of this in your iPortal application or email  inewstudent@ucsd.edu.
F-1/J-1 Student Visa Services
ISPO is aware of the closure of most visa processing services across the world. We are also aware that availability for many appointments is now after the start of fall quarter at UCSD. ISPO still wants to ensure you receive your visa documents in the event that this availability suddenly changes.
Our office is working closely with Graduate Division Admissions  to provide updated guidance  for you throughout the spring and summer should you be unable to secure an appointment before your program begins.
Join us for a series of informative webinars this spring and summer! In partnership with the Graduate Division , ISPO will host the following webinars next week:

I mmunization Requirements and Student Health
April 14 @ 8:30am PST
You can also view our slides and/or recordings of prior webinars at iwebinars.ucsd.edu .
More information regarding orientation, housing, and other important pre-arrival information is coming soon! If you have any questions, contact us at   inewstudent@ucsd.edu.
