I am so excited to Welcome Kate Atherley as an Instructor for 2 Online/Zoom Classes focused on her newest book, Math for Knitters!
Kate Atherley is a mathematician, a refugee from the tech industry and a best-selling author. She works as Knitty.com’s Managing Technical Editor, and is a seasoned designer and teacher of all things knitterly. She teaches regularly near her home in Ontario and at national and international events. Math for Knitters is the culmination of 25 years teaching knitting. It's your key to pattern freedom! The material has been broken into 2 Online Classes via Zoom that are 2 hours each.
The Level 1 Class focuses on how math fits into pattern reading – all the aspects of counting and working and keeping track of instructions. There will also be a discussion of gauge and what it really means – and how to deal with it if you can’t match. This class is suitable for newer knitters, and those who wish to get more comfortable reading patterns.
The Level 2 Class features a Deep Dive into the Mathematics of Knitting! The course offers tools for dealing with vague instructions and the logic puzzles that come up in working from patterns. Kate will discuss the mathematics of design and pattern adjustments, providing solutions and formulas to solve a variety of problems and challenges. This class is suitable for intermediate knitters.
And as a bonus, all class participants will receive a 20% discount on the purchase of Kate's Math for Knitters book.
