Beginning this Summer, Faustini's Institute will be offering two new ju-jitsu programs at the dojo. One program will be in Traditional Japanese Hakko Ryu Ju-Jutsu. The other will be in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (BJJ).
Below is a short bio of the instructors and information on class times:
HakkuRyu Ju-Jitsu - great for any adult who always wanted to study the art of the Samurais.
Sensei Kevin McNulty - has been training in Martial Arts for decades, and has experience in several styles of Ju Jutsu, Karate, and Judo. He currently conducts a study group at Faustini's Institute of Martial Arts that focuses on traditional Ju Jutsu, and Hakko Ryu for those who are more advanced. He holds the following ranks: Goshindo Ju Jutsu: Nidan; Hakko Ryu: Nidan; Hakko Densho Ryu: Nidan, USJA Judo: Shodan, Goshindo Karate: Ikkyu. Students with some experience in martial arts preferred. Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (BJJ)- great for those who have always wanted to learn the great fighting and ground techniques of the MMA fighters
After moving to New York to teach and pursue a Ph.D. at Columbia University, Andrew Branch had the good fortune to find himself living a few blocks from a Renzo Gracie Academy. He earned his blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2012.
In 2013 he took a leave of absence and moved to Alaska, where he trained full-time at the state's top MMA gym. He began developing his Muay Thai, boxing and wrestling skills with local and nationally known fighters.
In 2015 he made the decision to become a full-time martial artist. He began holding classes in Newark and is excited to be moving to a larger mat space at Faustini's Institute of Martial Arts.
