New Laws Take Effect October 1st
In just a few days, many new laws will go into effect. Here are a few laws that will be effective October 1st:

HB449: Removes the terms “Husband” and “Wife” from marriage licenses and replaces them with “Party 1” and “Party 2”. This should not come as a surprise. After all, many Democrats believe that men can get pregnant! 

SB525: Allows incarcerated individuals in Baltimore City the opportunity to vote during elections. Similarly, HB222 requires voting ballot drop-boxes to be placed in jails.
