Check out the new Leaders to Learn From professional development series!
Beginning later this month, SCS is kicking off a new leadership development series, called “
Leaders to Learn From.” Some of our District's top leaders will share their talents and expertise with aspiring and growing leaders. Each month will feature a different professional learning opportunity led by familiar faces from around our District. In addition to monthly PD sessions, District leaders will also lead book studies on topics, ranging from urban education to customer service in our schools. Take a look at the
schedule to learn more.
Spread warmth & joy during the Operation Warm Hearts clothing & toy drive Nov. 27!
Our favorite winter giving tradition is back for the fourth year.
Operation Warm Hearts will take place
Tuesday, November 27, from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. in front of the BOE. This year’s event is being held in connection with the national
#GivingTuesday initiative. Having adequate winter clothing can be the difference in a child coming to school or not, so we’re asking employees and the community to help spread warmth to those who need it most. Plus, we’re also collecting new, unwrapped toys this year to help make the holiday season a little more special for some of our less fortunate students.
Here are the items we are collecting:
Coats, Jackets & Outerwear
Hats, Gloves & Scarves
New Unwrapped Toys
Congratulations #SCSOctoberfest winners!
#SCSOctoberFest is in the books, so let's celebrate our winners. Employees in schools and central office departments dressed up in their most creative costumes for a chance to win gift cards, and the entries did not disappoint! In the school division,
Tonya Walton and
Belle Forest Community School were the big winners. At central office, t
he Spice Girls,
Destination 2025 graduates and this adorably
creepy skeleton had the best looks. Congratulations to all of the #Octoberfest winners! We can't wait to see what you guys have planned for the next dress-up day!
