Letter From Our

Outgoing President

It was my pleasure to serve as last year’s President of the Indian River County Historical Society.

Local history is not simply a record of the past - it is a living resource that helps us understand who we are, how we arrived here, and what values we want to carry forward. This past year, I was reminded of just how essential local history is to our shared identity.

The Historical Society is a private non-profit organization and not part of the County government, as many believe. The Society has such a small budget and we truly need your support. We are funded by memberships, grants and, on occasion, by generous private donors.

We believe the work of the organization is very important to the heritage of Vero Beach and Indian River County. For decades, the Historical Society has successfully contributed to our local culture and protected some of our most vulnerable historical assets.  Some of Our 2025 Accomplishments
