The Financial Controller position is 20 hours per week and is focused on: accounting, financial reporting to Session, personnel record keeping, benefits administration, insurance claims, and assisting the Vision Support Team (VST) of Session with contracted services.
Unlike the former Full-Time Business Manager position, there are no facility-related responsibilities for the Financial Controller. We have learned that financial and facility competencies are difficult to hire in tandem.This makes us all the more appreciative of the Jack-of-All-Trades competencies of Mike Herron who retired years ago as the Business Manager. For the time being, Custodian Mike Risk will be supervised by Pastor Paul. In his former position, Pastor Paul oversaw a Custodial staff of five. The long game here is to develop a Campus Care Deacon Team that will assist VST and Mike Risk with campus related matters.
