Dealing with Doubts, Disappointments & Dreams

In the coming weeks we’ll address some of life’s biggest questions. During the message time, Pastor Nate will discuss your questions. Questions like; "What am I here for?" "Who should I trust?" "Why does God allow pain?" "Do dogs go to heaven?" Or, anything you’d like answered. We want to hear from you! This week's question is "What happens when we die?"

Sunday is a Big Day!

Annual Pancake Breakfast

January 22 is the date for our Annual Pancake Breakfast. Tell your friends and bring your appetites! This event is a fundraiser for our JOURNEY Sunday School. If you can help by donating some of the ingredients and supplies or some of your time, it would be most appreciated!

Kindergarten & Third Grade Bible Presentation

On January 22, the families of kindergarten and 3rd grade students will fulfill the promises of baptism and place into the hands of their children the holy scriptures. We would also like to include 1st & 4th grades students who are new to the congregation or were unable to participate last year for any reason. Join us for the Bible Presentations this Sunday. Third & Fourth grade families should speak with Pastor Nate as soon as possible

Snow Tubing at Seven Oaks

We're tentatively planning to snow tube on Sunday, January 22 up at Seven Oaks in Boone. We need chaperones and a minimum of 15 participants to make it work. Middle and High School Students, reach out to Pastor Nate to confirm your spot and be added to the list. TWO SPOTS REMAIN.

To all members:

New Life's Annual Meeting will be called to order on Sunday, January 29th at 9:30 am.

All confirmed members of the church are eligible to vote. We will approve the financial reports from 2022 and the ministry spending plan for 2023. Importantly, we will also vote on our new council members for 2023. This is an important year for the council as we make the move to a governance structure.

We'd love to invite each of you to participate in this important business meeting of the church. You're a member, you should know what happens, and what is going to be happening in your church!

Middle & High School Students

Donuts & Discussion meets every other Sunday at 9:30 am. Our next meeting will be January 22. We'll substitute pancakes for donuts this week.

High School Breakfast

All High Schoolers are invited to breakfast at the Norwalk Maid-Rite each Friday at 7 am. Fill up your bellies, and start your day in prayer.

Budget Review

The NLLC Annual Meeting will be held at 9:30 am on January 29. A budget review session will be led by our financial officers on January 22 at 11:45 am.

A short preview of year end 2022 is that while we ended behind our giving goal, we increased giving from 2021 to 2022 by almost 15%!

Make plans to attend this important event in the business life of New Life.

Offering Envelopes

If you use Offering Envelopes for your weekly given and have not yet received yours, they will be available for pick-up in the back of the worship space following worship this Sunday. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Lance Taylor.

A "Bleak Mid-Winter" Worship

Tuesday, January 24 at 6 pm hosted by our friends at Norwalk Christian Chrurch with Soup Supper following. Due to weather we had to postpone our “Blue Christmas Service”. We continue our partnership with Norwalk Christian, Norwalk United Methodist, and New Life as we are reimagining this service as a mid-winter worship. In the midst of a cold, long winter, we pause for prayer and quieting of our souls, providing a space to safely carry our grief, anxiety, and worry that often feel heavier this time of year. We will name these feelings as we point ourselves to the hope for brighter days. All are welcome! We will end with a time of fellowship around a warm bowl of soup.
