CAADC/CADC Credentials
The SUD Credential Cohort is starting back up and we are looking for clinical staff who are interested in obtaining their CAADC or CADC through MCBAP. The survey to express your interest in joining this group is listed below.

Information on CAADC/CADC credentials is listed on the MCBAP website at this link: Home - MCBAP
Little Library
A little library is now available in the MHC entryway. Children and adult books are available for free and open to staff, those in services and the community.

If you have books you would like to donate (we are especially in need of books for adult readers) contact Kara Kile or Beth Slagboom.
Authority Status
HealthWest is preparing for the potential of becoming its own government authority on Oct. 1. This decision will ultimately be made by the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners.

One of the required steps to becoming an authority is to hold three public hearings. While we do not believe that the public, including those we serve, will notice an impact in our move to authority status, they are certainly welcome to attend and learn more/ask questions.

SCHEDULED PUBLIC HEARINGS ON AUTHORITY STATUS:
  • Friday, June 24, 8:30 am, MHC

Separate meetings will be held for staff to discuss the potential of moving to authority status. Included below, you will find a link to our project plan and the presentation that will be shared during the hearings.
HEALTHWEST STAFF CONNECTIONS
Our committees try to create opportunities for staff to meet and celebrate together.

Here are a few of the upcoming events that you can participate in.
Pop-up Succulent Sale
A pop-up succulent sale will be hosted in the MHC lunch room next week on June 28 from 11am-2pm. Proceeds from this event will be added to the FunD budget so that we can give back to staff throughout the year.

When you join us at the event you can purchase a $15 package which includes everything you need to create a small container to add to your home or office. While supplies last!
$15 package includes:
  • Three succulent plugs
  • One container
  • Potting soil

You can pay by cash, Paypal, Cash app, or Venmo
Pack Walks

The staff support committee hosts opportunities for staff to gather, share together in their hobbies, and get to know each other. One of the events is pack walks every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. The last walk of June is this Thursday, so grab that leash and join us in Mullally Park at 6 pm!

This group is a great chance to get to know other staff members and socialize with your dog. All participants understand that all dogs have different needs and aim to create a safe and judgment-free space for every dog's personality. If you have any questions contact Chelsea Kirksey.
Friday Yoga

Follow along with an online yoga session with fellow staff members. Every Friday at noon you can join Lori Shepard for a gentle yoga session in Board Room B at MHC.
Stitch-n-Snack

Join us the 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 12 -1 pm in MHC Conference Room 3 for a time to get together with others from the agency to work on knitting/crocheting projects and socialize. Contact Michelle Erickson with any questions.
Coffee Bringing a Smile to Staff
Over the past week staff have shared fun pictures of them enjoying their PRIDE month coffee and stickers. Thank you to SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Advocates) for sharing these gifts to make our day a little brighter!
