Old Glory Honor Flight will Present- Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight

Old Glory Honor Flight will Present - Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight out of the EAA in Oshkosh on Friday July 29th. We will take 110 Vietnam veterans to Washington DC to visit their Memorial. They will also visit the Price of Freedom display at the Smithsonian and see the changing of the Guard at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier.

The flight will be the last flight of the air show, arriving back at the EAA about 6:15 p.m. Come out to the EAA and Welcome these veterans Home as this is something they did not get when they returned from their tour of duty.

Then stay for the concert of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

FNLPM Announces Chicago Museums Motorcoach Tour

Friends of the New London Public Museum (FNLPM) announced its 2016 Chicago Museums Motorcoach Tour will take place on Friday, August 12.

Open to FNLPM members and the general public, the day trip offers participants the opportunity to visit one of Chicago's finest museums including The Art Institute of Chicago, the Adler Planetarium, the Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum of Natural History, and The Museum of Science & Industry.
 
Reservations with payment are required by August 1 and are accepted on a first-come basis as seating is limited. The cost of the tour (does not include admission to museums/attractions) is $39 per person for FNLPM members or $48 per person for the general public. Departure points for the trip are from New London's Wolf River Plaza parking lot and the Dale park 'n ride lot on State Road 96.

Join us at the Wolf River Market Place...
The Forward New London group is proud to introduce "The Wolf River Market Place".  It is an outdoor shopping experience located in Bucky's Restaurant parking lot.  The Market Place will be open weekly on Saturdays, from June 4th through Oct. 29th from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.  The market is open to produce vendors, flea market vendors, artists, antiques, non - profits, cottage industries, small businesses etc.  The cost is $5.00 per Saturday or $25.00 for six weeks.  To register or to get more information please call Rita at (920) 810-4480.

The VFW bar will be closed from June 26th until early August as we do some much needed repairs and maintenance projects.

This Friday, June 24th will also be our Last Friday Fish Fry until we re-open in August.

The hall will be open for scheduled meetings & private events during this time.

We apologize for any inconvenience but look forward to showing off all of our hard work in August.

On Tuesdays, come and explore the Curiosity Corner (a hands - on discovery area sponsored by the Friends of the New London Public Museum) between 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Discover more about our environment and how we can protect it! Free Admission, no registration is needed.
 
Now through Friday, July 29th, join Cellcom's annual Customer Appreciation Celebrations. Celebrations are one of the many ways Cellcom thanks its customers and gives back to the communities it serves. Each summer, the company hosts more than 40 events at its locations across Wisconsin. On Monday, July 11th through Friday, Aug. 5th, there will be free lunch for kids at the Library.  We will be serving lunch at the library for all children 18 and younger from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  The food is provided by the school district through the Summer Food Program.

On Tuesday, Aug. 2nd, Mosquito Hill Nature Center is holding a G3: Little Birds of Prey from 10 - 11 a.m. When we think of birds of prey, many times our images include bald eagles and great horned owls. While both are fantastic predators and majestic birds, our small raptors are equally as impressive. They are fast fliers and incredible hunters. We'll introduce you to few live little birds of prey and discuss their importance in our natural world. The cost is $3 / adults, $2 / youth. Registration and payment due Tuesday, July 26th. On Tuesday, July 26th, Mosquito Hill Nature Center is holding a G3: Into the Woods from 10 - 11 a.m. What better place to be in the middle of summer than in the cool, green forest. We'll take a walk on Mosquito Hill and see what's happening in the woods. We'll look for birds in the trees, deer in the shrubs and all sorts of little things in the soil. The forest is a busy place. On Wednesday, July 27th, the New London Public Library will hold Babygarten from 11 - 11:30 a.m. Babygarten has lively, interactive stories, songs and activities for creepers, crawlers, walkers and talkers that will encourage early language and literacy development. On Sunday, July 31st, Mosquito Hill Nature Center is holding a Let's Take a Walk: Through the Prairie from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Prairies originally covered much of the Great Plains of the United States, including a portion of western Wisconsin. The nature center is home to a 12-acre planted prairie which boasts dozens of unique plants species as well as animal species that could be found in the original prairies. We'll explore the mid-summer plants, their adaptations and benefits to wildlife. The cost is $3 / adults, $2 / youth.
