Beginning Tuesday, July 11th through Friday, July 14th, Mosquito Hill Nature Center invites you to join their Summer Ecology Program for Children, "Nature Quest" for first and second graders. This activity series uses nature as the board game, in a game that can take many forms depending on the number of players, their imaginations, and the natural surroundings. On Wednesday, July 12th, Mosquito Hill Nature Center will be holding a Fox Valley Memory Café from1:30 - 3:30 p.m. The Fox Valley Memory Cafés welcome those experiencing early stage dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment, as well as family and friends of those affected. It's a great opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, and lots of creative fun thrown in. We have a gerontology professional on hand to answer questions and an enormous wealth of experience among participants to be shared. Join us for a program with prizes, refreshments and lots of fun. We'll have activities and brainstorm ideas on what you would like to do during future Memory Cafés. We'll be on our way to enjoying interesting experiences together and making new friends. On Friday, July 14th, Foot Care Clinics are available the 2nd Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and the 4th Friday of each month from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. with a Registered Nurse from Valley VNA's In-Home Care at the New London Senior Center. Twenty minute appointments include foot soak, nail trimming and filing, callus reduction, foot massage with lotion and nail care education / referral. Gift certificates are available. On Saturday, July 15th, the Forward New London group will hold "Wolf River Market Place". It is an outdoor shopping experience located in the Bucky's Restaurant parking lot. The Market Place will be open weekly on Saturdays through Oct. 28th from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. The market is open to produce vendors, flea market vendors, artists, antiques, non - profits, cottage industries, small businesses etc. The cost is $5.00 per Saturday or $25.00 for six weeks. Wednesday, July 19th, the New London Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their monthly Business Briefing / networking session at 8 a.m. in the chapel at St. Joseph Residence (Please Park on Road). Join the Chamber for this exciting networking opportunity open to all Chamber members. These sessions are held the third Wednesday of each month.
