Together, We Can Do It

At Habitat Clallam, we like to say we're not afraid to dig in, get dirty, and lift others up. We're committed to supporting our communities and all the places that make them stronger. So, in addition to some of our ongoing repair projects, this week our talented crew jumped into to lend a hand to the Dream Playhouse rebuild. Habitat Clallam knows all too well that #EveryVolunteerMatters. We also live to Build What We Believe and the Port Angeles Dream Playhouse is a great example. We were honored to join other local organizations, like United Way Clallam, who spearheaded the project. A big shoutout to all who have given their time and energy, proving that in Port Angeles we take care of each other, no matter the challenges. #PortAngelesRules #WeLoveClallamCounty #UnitedWayClallamCounty #DreamPlayground

How Habitat Does It

Welcome, Michelle! Habitat Clallam is excited to announce Michelle Pruden as our new Family Resource Director. Michelle’s family roots go way back on the Olympic Peninsula.

She has a great background in program management—most recently at the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship. Michelle served several times as an AmeriCorps Service member in disaster relief and recovery all over the Country. Michelle’s first day in the office will be Tuesday, May 28th. Feel free to stop in and say hello!

Ribbon Cutting

In just a few weeks, Habitat Clallam will be kicking off the Port Angeles Veterans Build Project! We're excited to finally be getting underway and we want you to join us in the celebration. You can meet some of the caring people who made this project possible, including valiant veterans from VFW Post 4760 and other military groups. In addition, Mark Hodgson, Habitat Clallam's board chair and a veteran himself, will provide a few insights into why this project holds a special place in his heart.

Partnership is one of the main foundations of the Habitat model. Without it, we wouldn't be able to do the work we do. So having an organization like First Fed in our corner means everything. It means we can make the difference in the community we're all striving for.

When First Fed reached out to Habitat to share the idea, we jumped at the chance. Matt Deines, CEO of First Fed, liked the idea of "working side-by-side with Habitat to address the critical need for affordable housing in our region.”

You are invited to join the First Fed team of volunteers. Find out more about the event and sign up to volunteer at ourfirstfed.com/community-spirit. Community Spirit Day is on Wednesday, June 5th from 12:30pm - 5pm.
