Check out the new MI College Match

One fact that I want you all to share is that most colleges in Michigan offer fee waivers during College Month in October to encourage students to apply to as many colleges as they can. Another way to save money is to apply using the Common App.

This fall, MCAN is rolling out a new tool, MICollegeMatch, that not only is free, but it actually helps students with the right GPA get matched with colleges. The student will have potential direct admissions with more than 30 participating colleges and universities.

We kicked off Application Month with our annual Wear Your College Gear Day on September 18th. Thanks to everyone who posted their words of encouragement to students on #WhyApply.

It is also College Fair Season. Our biggest fair locally will be on Wednesday, October 21st at LCC. Over 50 colleges and universities will be there so you will definitely find one that is a good match and fit for you! Check out our calendar to see other opportunities in both Clinton and Eaton counties.

I hope you are all starting to do your VOTING plan for November 3. We have kicked off a Voter Engagement Campaign called #FirstGen-FirstVote. You can look at your personal ballot, find your polling place, register to vote and order an absentee ballot at the Michigan Voter Information Center. Please encourage at least one first generation voter to use their vote as their voice on election day!

Happy Voting!
