Madera County Economic Development Commission (MCEDC) will hold their quarterly commissioners meeting on July 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community College Center. The public is welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity to meet Economic Development staff and learn more about the mission and services that MCEDC provides. 
Note: MCEDC requests that presentations are no longer than 3-5 minutes.

Sheriff Varney Welcomes New Hires To MCSO

Sheriff Jay Varney and the Madera County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) hosted a swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, May 30, to formally recognize recent new hires within the department. Sheriff Varney welcomed communications dispatcher Kayla Boyd and deputies David Ochoa, Andre Pena, Michael Lewis and Johnathan Rodriguez. Read more .
Madera and Oakhurst Community College Centers set new commencement record

The Madera and Oakhurst Community College Centers made history this school year, setting the record for most students receiving degrees or certificates at commencement.
A total of 455 students received degrees or certificates on May 23. Of those 455, 154 were certificates, 103 were associate of science degrees, 88 were associate of science transfer degrees, 30 were associate of arts degree, 78 were associate of art transfer degrees and two were certificates of completion.
