New PPT Brand: Lansmont Corporation

Mecmesin's parent company, Physical Properties Testers Group, recently acquired Lansmont Corporation.

Who is Lansmont?

Lansmont Corporation provides advanced shock and vibration measurement and testing technology to the world’s leading companies, government laboratories and educational institutions.

Product and packaging engineers rely on Lansmont equipment to discover the limits and unknowns in their products’ transport and in-use environments. Ultimately helping engineers design stronger, more durable products and packaging.

The PPT family

Lansmont joins Mecmesin, Alluris and James Heal as a group of brands expert in the design and production of testing instrumentation and quality control technologies.

Together, we manufacture physical testers and systems - force, torque, shock & vibration for product and materials testing, packaging, transport simulation, fabric/textile & wear testing, food texture and sensory testing, universal testing machines, and more, for various industries.

Whatever your physical properties testing needs, we can help.

Case Studies: Plant-based PLA material bottles & Fishing line and knot strength

Top-load testing of plant-based PLA material bottles

BioPak Solutions in Roquefort-les-Pins, France, are leaders in the production of Polylactic Acid (PLA) bottles.

The bottles are oil-free, contain no PET or Bisphenol A, and are made 100% from carbon-absorbing plants.

Using plant-based raw materials (corn) rather than petrochemicals they are eco- and vegan-friendly, require less energy to produce, are toxin-free, and are fully biodegradable.

The OmniTest 5, in conjunction with VectorPro MT software, was deployed to carry out the top-load test -including a ‘dual-stack’ variation.

Fishing line and knot strength

Toit Fishing has a mission is to develop, improve and reimagine fishing tools with emphasis on reliability, functionality, durability and environmental sustainability.

Toit Fishing use a MultiTest 5-i software-controlled tensile tester to accurately and reliably measure strength characteristics.

Bollard grips, designed to securely hold cables, cords, filaments and wires, ensure that the elongation and movement is constrained to with the sample itself - essential for optimum relevancy in the test, particularly the performance of knots.
