New Module Now Available on CPI’s Website:

“Integrating Digital Media into Psychiatric Assessments”

Did you know that:

  • Currently about four billion people globally use digital devices to get information, to work, or meet.
  • Digital media is increasingly recognized as a relevant factor in mental health assessments.
  • Focusing on the quality of digital engagement rather than the sheer volume allows for a deeper understanding of its impact on mental health.

We are pleased to announce a new training module entitled: Integrating Digital Media into Psychiatric Assessments, which is now available on CPI’s website. Learners will:

  • Explore why psychiatric evaluations should be incorporating peoples' use of digital media, as a means to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their lives,
  • Learn how to incorporate assessment of digital media use by evaluating both the quality and quantity of digital media use,
  • Develop structured approaches for incorporating digital media inquiries into psychiatric assessments,
  • Understand the impact of digital media on mental health and why it is important for clinicians to consider,
  • Learn to evaluate beyond the quantity of digital media use, considering salient quality-related factors to people’s health, and
  • Incorporate structured questioning for digital media inquiries into psychiatric assessments.
