New Monitoring Reports Released

CA DPR and FDA Release New Reports

Waterborne has experts that can provide a data analysis evaluation of your pesticide(s).

CA DPR released their 2021 Annual Well Sampling Report.

“A total of 2,662 wells were sampled for one or more of 221 pesticides. Twelve percent of the wells sampled had reported detections, 41 pesticides or degradates* were detected. DPR evaluated all reported detections and is conducting further investigation on eight detections of four pesticides.” Learn more here

FDA released their 2020 Pesticide Residue Monitoring Report

U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) made available its annual Pesticide Residue Monitoring Program Report for Fiscal Year 2020 (FY 2020), summarizing findings from the program’s monitoring of human and animal foods in FY 2020.

The Count is on for Endangered Monarchs

Beautiful, impressive... and now endangered. The monarch butterfly and its annual migration have been mesmerizing scientists for countless generations. Yet these small but mighty butterflies have been struggling in recent years and have now been added to the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List of endangered species. They remain a 'candidate' on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) endangered species list.

Our endangered species and pollinator experts keep a pulse on the latest news about Monarch butterflies, including participating in annual counts. The Fall Count began on August 6th and there's still time for you to help with a butterfly count in your area. Learn more about the count here

New See & Spray Technology

Pesticide treatment has taken a step forward thanks to Artificial Intelligence. John Deere has released new sprayer technology that detects color differentiation in the field through boom-mounted cameras. The detection of green plants (weeds) triggers a herbicide application to those plants only. Available in 2023, See & Spray Ultimate provides "green on green" in-season targeted spraying for fields planted to corn, cotton and soybeans in 30-inch or wider rows, as well as broadcast spraying capabilities. At Waterborne can model the use of this equipment as a mitigation to reduce the use of herbicide application.
