Mental Health Awareness Month

A Fresh Start This Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month - a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support one another.

At NAMI Fond du Lac County, we're excited to reconnect with you. After some time away from regular updates, we're making a renewed commitment to being more visible, engaged, and connected within our community.

You'll start seeing more from us as we:

  • Host monthly Togetherness Events focused on connection, spreading awareness, and well-being
  • Share resources through a revamped website
  • Stay active and engaged on social media

We're glad you're here - and we're just getting started.

Why Togetherness Events?

Our monthly Togetherness Events are designed to create safe, welcoming spaces where people can:

  • Build social connection
  • Engage in positive activities
  • Learn about mental health in approachable ways
  • Connect with local resources

Because no one should have to navigate mental health alone.

If you're interested in partnering with us for a future Togetherness Event, please reach out to Kim, our Grant & Fundraising Coordinator, at kimmiller@namifonddulac.org

Mental Health Awareness Month Tip

Take a Moment to Check In With Yourself

In the busyness of everyday life, we often forget to pause and ask ourselves how we're really doing.

Try taking 2-3 minutes to check in:

  • What am I feeling right now?
  • What do I need today?
  • Have I taken care of my basic needs (rest, food, movement, connection)?

Building awareness of our thoughts and emotions is a powerful first step toward better mental health. Small moments of self-awareness can lead to meaningful change over time.

Throughout the month of May, NAMI Fond du Lac will be sharing practical coping and grounding skills on our social media to help you build your mental health toolbox - follow along and find what works best for you.
