New OSP Structure Announcement
Welcome back for the start of the Fall 2020 semester! There have been many changes over the past few months and the Office of Sponsored Programs is excited to formally announce the new organizational structure.

WELCOME NEW FACES!
Jill Tuley, Research Administrator – Pre-Award, comes from Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital and brings post award and core knowledge of research administration. She earned her bachelor of science from Baylor University and her masters of arts in biological anthropology from Texas Tech University.

Michele Frankovich, Research Administrator – Pre-Award, most recently worked in Reno at Renown Health and developed pre and post award operational structures in the office of research. She earned her MBA in Finance from the University of Texas, Arlington.

Amy Gros-Louis, Research Administrator – Grants and Contracts, is a familiar face on campus and relocated to OSP from within our Research and Economic Development division. She has been at UNLV for over seven years and prior to that worked in the research administration field at the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor of arts in Anthropology and Italian from the University of Wisconsin and her MBA from University of Iowa. Amy is also a Certified Research Administrator.

We are excited to have them join our team and they are ready to help you on your sponsored programs.

NEW STRUCTURE!
Based on the needs of our faculty and staff we have developed a Proposal to Award Life Cycle with three cores. Each of the cores has direct leadership to oversee the daily needs and expert focus within each area along with a team to address the core needs.
Stephanie Page, CRA, Associate Director of Pre Award leads the proposal submissions with three dedicated Research Administrators, Felicia Sumler, CRA, Jill Tuley, and Michele Frankovich.

Hallie Lyons, CRA, Associate Director of Grants and Contracts leads the management of the awards with one committed research administrator, Amy Gros-Louis, CRA and one vacancy (soon to be filled), along with a Grants Analyst, Courtney Carr, who assists with award set up in Workday.  Hallie also works directly with the Contract Manager, Lyndsay Ifo, CRA, who negotiates sponsored contracts and agreements.

Jane Kober, CRA, Financial Research Administration Manager, leads the Post Award Financial core that focuses on Workday and invoicing and reporting to sponsors with a team of financial research administrators, Joe Short, Jaime Woods, Quentin Murrel, CRA, and Ruth Lopez, CRA.

In addition to the three cores, Mary Vicuna-Howe, CRA, Associate Director for Financial Compliance, oversees the newly created, much needed area of compliance. She and her team of two grants analysts, James Wright and Laura Anders, focus on reducing risk, compliance review of all accounts, effort reporting, cost share, subaward monitoring, account collections and the annual audits and reporting.

WHO DO I CONTACT?
The new roles and assigned units are available on line. The College/Department Assignment lists the Pre Award, Grants and Contracts and Post Award Financial Research Administrators for your college/department.

STILL DON'T KNOW WHO TO CONTACT?
Check out the Proposal to Award Life Cycle for a chart that provides a snapshot of the internal OSP tasks that fall under each specific core.

WHAT's NEXT?
OSP isn’t done with changes; in fact this is just the beginning. The implementation of Cayuse, the cloud based research administration platform for proposal submissions and online routing, is being developed by our OSP team and Cayuse behind the scenes. The development takes 26 weeks and we expect to roll out in Spring of 2021. We will continue to communicate about updates in the months ahead. We are here to help and answer any questions you may have.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND SUPPORT!
