Promoting the sustainable development of renewable
energy in New England ocean waters.

New Ocean Energy Webinar Series
Begins January 24 - Register Now!

The ocean is a vast and almost entirely un-tapped
source of energy, and has the potential to be a leading
alternative source of clean, renewable power.

Join a group of engineers and planning specialists to take a closer look at the oceans and how science and technology can be used to pursue sustainable energy projects such as wind and tidal power.

This free, three-part webinar series will introduce the basics of ocean energy, discuss how energy project sites are selected and assessed for their environmental impacts.

January 24 - 7:00 pm ET
The World of Ocean Energy : An overview and introduction to ocean energy, and an overview of marine renewable energy sources. The Cape Cod Canal project will be featured. Presenters: John Miller and Maggie Merril of MRECo.

January 31 - 7:00 pm ET
Impacts, Outputs and Lessons Learned : How to assess the perfect locations for renewable energy projects, and how those projects are tested and evaluated to maximize their benefit while minimizing environmental impact. Presenters: Dr. David Bethony (University of Massachussets Darthmouth), Diana Krupa (WaterCube), Jonathan Colby (Verdant Energy)

February 7 - 7:00 pm ET
Classroom Connections : Educators will lead a discussion of what teachers have done in the past to incorporate ocean energy and technology into their classrooms. An open discussion will be available for brainstorming implementation strategies.

Registration for this webinar is open to all, and connection information will be provided after registration is completed. To participate in the live webinar sessions, you will need to have a computer that has speakers or another audio output. Only one registration is necessary to receive connection information for all three webinar sessions - and presentations will be recorded archived online.
