Meal Planning and Prepping:
When it comes time to meal plan or prep - do you get excited or does this make you want to cringe?
I used to be the person that would cringe when I heard these words.
It's not that I didn't know how to cook, or didn't want to, it was that I didn't want to use the mental capacity it took to think about what to cook, and feeling the guilt of not making a "healty" or "well balanced" meal for my family.
I needed something to help make this easier for me to do, and have everything in one spot.
Most of my meal ideas come from none other than the old trusty pintrest board. This gave me the option to find some more "fun" meals that my family would eat without argument. Now don't let me fool you - we still throw in the simple meals every now and again like spaghetti, hamburger helper etc. But this new way was allowing us to not only try new things but was easy to manage.
Trying to ensure we have different types of protein, I usually try to make sure we have some red meat, some chicken, and some pork.
I bought containers big enough to hold the meals for a family of 5, and have clear sticky holders to put the recipe cards in. Along with those I ordered day of the week stickers. Now when I decide what we are having-all ingredients can go in one container.
Even with the ideas I gave you above, does the thought of thinking of what to eat and planning/prepping still make you want to cringe? I can help with that - I want to announce a new endeavor that Uncluttered Life LLC has started doing.
