DTE ENERGY NEW HOME OFFERING FOR THERMALLY BROKEN WALL ASSEMBLY: TSTUD

The DTE Energy New Home Construction Program has launched an offering with incentives for homes built with a thermally broken wall assembly product, Tstud™. Participating builders can receive up to $2,000 per home as well as training to optimize the Tstuds use in their current build designs.

 What is the Tstud™?

  • Tstuds are uninsulated, thermally broken wall studs which give builders the option to use any type of insulation
  • 5.5” Tstud is a direct replacement for 2x6 studs
  • Tstuds save energy by diminishing thermal transfer and easing continuous insulation practices

Pilot Requirements

  • Must replace standard 2x4 or 2x6 framing with Tstuds
  • Applicable only in DTE’s electric only, and electric & gas dual fuel service territories
  • Must be new construction residential single-family homes
  • Builders are required to work with a RESNET Home Energy Rating System® (HERS®) Rater
  • Homes must achieve a final HERS score of 60 or less
  • Homes must receive a final HERS inspection prior to December 31, 2023
