Dear Fellow Retired ADA/NJDA Member:
We are pleased to announce the formation of the New Jersey Dental Political Action Committee’s CENTURION CLUB. This new Club within NJDPAC has been created exclusively for Retired Dentists to provide an opportunity to give back to the profession we love and that provided us with a wonderful life.
NJDPAC works tirelessly on behalf of our profession to build and maintain critical relationships with politicians from both parties who impact how dentistry is practiced and how oral health is prioritized in New Jersey. NJDPAC does not support a particular political party. It supports our profession, first and last!
NJDPAC, together with the NJDA’s lobbying efforts, provides dentistry with a powerful voice at the state level that has positioned the New Jersey Dental Association as a national leader in dental insurance reform. Some examples are:
1. NJDA enacted the first law requiring dental consultants to be accountable to the State Board of Dentistry.
2. NJDA enacted the first law prohibiting the leasing of dental insurance networks without expressed written consent of the participating dentist.
3. NJDA enacted the first law requiring dental insurance carriers to rebate beneficiaries for unused benefits during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
4. NJDA introduced first of its kind legislation prohibiting dental insurance carriers from invoking a “Disallow Clause” within their provider network clauses.
5. NJDA introduced the first legislation mandating dental insurance carriers to allow their beneficiaries to use dental benefits upon sign-up.
6. NJDA enacted first of its kind legislation mandating that dental carriers accept a Universal Credentialing Form for prospective participating providers.
7. NJDA was a national leader at ensuring dental practices did not close, and that dentists were considered part of the essential healthcare network during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is our opportunity, as Retired Dentists who no longer pay dues, to show our appreciation and support of our profession while setting a great example for our younger members. We need to lead the next generation of dentists, while showing the politicians the continued strength and importance of organized dentistry. And, we need you!
While we personally contribute more than $1,000 annually to NJDPAC, membership in the CENTURION CLUB begins at the $100 level. We encourage you to give at whatever level you can and renew every year. We will publish and regularly update the list of those who contribute to the CENTURION CLUB on both the NJDA website as well as provide your name to your local dental component society for recognition too.
