We also take you inside our recent Kentucky Derby Watch Party/Diaper Fundraiser benefiting Lighthouse of Clarkston and invite you to enter our GIVEAWAY. Last but not least we have compiled a list of our favorite brunch spots just in time for Mother's Day.

Episode #3 with The Mayor, Mr. Eric Haven

On our 3rd podcast episode, we were fortunate to have the Mayor of Clarkston, Mr. Eric Haven join us for a chat. Mr. Haven is a long time Clarkston resident having moved here over 50 years ago and has now served as Mayor for over 5 years. When you listen to him discuss all things Clarkston, you get a sense that he was always meant to be the mayor.

The Haven Perspective

I am thrilled to be included in Anne and Katie's new podcast venture. Their idea of "Connecting Clarkston" excites me. The glue of connecting people is aligned values. As mayor of Clarkston I look for those values. I think they include

(1) loving what we have, and

(2) wanting to make it better.

Leaning forward, I want to want to talk with our citizens about what, "BETTER" means, what their preferred future looks like to them. Let's begin a conversation.

Ask A Question

The Gateway and their personalized items are the best-kept secret in Clarkston, and we are thrilled to have partnered with them. So if you're looking for a unique gift or want to add a personal touch to your business or home, be sure to stop by the Gateway. You won't be disappointed!

We want to express our sincere appreciation to The Print Shop for partnering with us. Their dedication to providing high-quality printing services with lightning-fast turnaround times makes them the obvious choice for all of your printing, shipping and packaging needs.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for June 12th. Always check the Clarkston Community Schools official website for updates and possible schedule changes. Unless otherwise noted, all regular board meetings will begin at 7pm in the Community Room at the Administration Building.

Listen in as Mayor Eric Haven explains how identifying a town's core values is the most important guiding principle in governance. He also gives some great historical perspective for how our town was formed and continues to honor the past as we evolve. We ask him about the latest plans for Rudy's market, parking in downtown, and clarification on the attempt to have cannabis retailers downtown. He doesn't reveal any deep dark town secrets, but he does explain the name-- The City of the Village of Clarkston!

Our next episode will feature the Chelsea O'Brien from The Clarkston Family Farm and Derek Smith, Director of Independence Township Parks, Recreation and Seniors.
