I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Elizabeth Fisher as the new District Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Articulation for the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District.
Ms. Fisher is excited to work at Ramapo Indian Hills with such an outstanding group of educators, students, and parents. In her new role, Ms. Fisher will focus her efforts on the development of both an effective and appropriate curriculum, utilizing a collaborative approach that engages both faculty and administrators. In this role, Ms. Fisher will focus on fostering a collaborative environment and strengthening relationships by being present, authentic, and communicative with all stakeholders as she supports the District's initiatives. As a leader, Ms. Fisher values collaboration, innovation, and reflection to develop learning opportunities that empower students to take an active role in their education and ideally create the environment for students to achieve their greatest potential. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team as we work to implement the new strategic plan and achieve the District’s goals.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Fisher served as the Director of Secondary Education for the Caldwell-West Caldwell Public Schools, where she prioritized both the needs and requests of students and faculty in decisions and program implementation efforts. As Director of Secondary Education, Ms. Fisher enhanced the articulation, design, and implementation of the District's curriculum. Ms. Fisher supported curriculum revision, provided instructional resources, and developed additional tools to address the district’s student-learning goals, specifically focused on recent improvements in both math and reading objectives. In her role as the District’s Affirmative Action Officer, Ms. Fisher also advocated for the integration of educational resources to provide students the opportunities to learn more about themselves, their peers, and their community.
Ms. Fisher initially joined the Caldwell-West Caldwell District in 2018 as a Vice Principal at James Caldwell High School. During that time, she positively impacted the school community by maintaining a safe learning environment, encouraging the use of instructional technologies, and expanding professional learning opportunities. Ms. Fisher began her career at her own alma mater, Morris Knolls High School where she taught Social Studies and coached the women's field hockey and lacrosse teams. While at Morris Knolls, she led the instructional coaching program, a first-of-its-kind initiative focused on offering job-embedded, one-on-one, and small group professional development for instructors in order to provide support and reinforce instructional practices.
Ms. Fisher earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership: Instruction from The College of New Jersey and a second Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership: Administration from Montclair State University. She also received her Bachelor’s Degree in History from TCNJ. She is looking forward to working with the staff, students, and community of the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District as she begins her new role in August.
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Fisher as our new Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Articulation.
All my best,
