We have designed a one-day Transfer Preview session that is tailored to your needs and provides you with all the need-to-know information about Mount Union. This mandatory program, which will give you a chance to get more familiar with campus, will be held on
Thursday, June 22, 2017
, but if you cannot attend on this date, we will hold a second session on
Thursday, August 17
. Visit the website to learn more about Transfer Preview and to view the
Transfer Student Checklist.
This Checklist will give you month by month steps that will keep you right on track for your arrival in the fall.
Make your reservation for one of these Transfer Preview Sessions, and complete your housing or commuter student information form, online now! Once you log in, using your Mount Union username and password, click on the application tab, and choose and complete the Transfer Preview Reservation form [you'll also need to complete the Transfer Preview Guest Reservation Form if you plan to have guests attend with you]. You'll also see the New Student Housing and New Student Commuter Applications - you should complete the form that applies to you!
Prior to attending Transfer Student Preview, Marci Muckleroy, coordinator of students in academic transition, or Rodney Dick, director of integrative core will work with you to create a course schedule designed to fit your academic interests. Either Marci or Rodney will be your academic advisor during your first semester and serve as a resource for you as you transition into becoming a Purple Raider.

Get to Know Alliance
|
As a student at Mount, you get the best of both worlds - a small campus feel with a close-knit surrounding community and a city with numerous activities for students. To get a feel for your new home, read about some off-campus locations where many Mount Union students spend their time:
- Cinemark Carnation Cinema: Where else can you watch newly released blockbuster movies for $5.25? And on Discount Tuesday, tickets are only $3! Have you ever thought about becoming a movie critic?
- Mount Union Gateway: The new retail and restaurant plaza, located directly across from the University on State Street, is a short walk away for a much-needed study break! So far, there's a Buffalo Wild Wings, Orange Leaf Yogurt, Farmer's National Bank, Papa Gyro's and Georgio's Pizza, Four Kids Coffee, Jersey Mike's, with other businesses to come.
- Starbucks: If you have a favorite coffee beverage, enjoy it with some new friends when you need motivation to write that big paper! If you don't have a favorite coffee beverage, there are plenty of other tasty options and a nice, relaxing atmosphere!
- Jupiter Studios: If you take a trip downtown, be sure to check out this local art gallery, complete with organic pizzas and snacks. They often have live music, too!
- Green Farms: Green Farms Country Market is located across from Wal-Mart and has a large selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and other food items at very low costs. It's fun to pick up some healthy snacks to re-fuel during exam week!
- Hot Pots Pottery: Pottery and canvas painting, candle making, mosaics, glass fusion - there are countless possibilities at Hot Pots! Keep this spot in mind when you need a fun night away from homework and studying.

Learn the Mount Union Lingo
|
Each school has their own lingo when referring to the operations and buildings around campus. As a transfer student, this could lead to confusion about what offices to go to when you have questions. Use this UMU Lingo Guide to help with your transition to Mount Union.
