National Black Philanthropy Month, an annual month-long, global celebration of African-descent giving, was created in August 2011 by Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland and the Pan-African Women's Philanthropy Network (PAWPNet) and is held every August.

It serves as an invitation to all African American communities and their allies to reflect on and promote the power of giving to transform lives. The month also highlights the contributions of black organizations and promotes increased financial support and sustainability for those initiatives.
