New Cal-AIM Changes Explained:

Program Overview

California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) is a far-reaching, multiyear plan to transform Medi-Cal and enable it to work more seamlessly with other social services. Led by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), the goal of CalAIM is to improve outcomes for the millions of Californians covered by Medi-Cal, including those with complex needs.

Doula Services Medi-Cal Benefit:

The Department of Health Care Services is adding doula services to the list of preventive services covered under the Medi-Cal program. Doula services include personal support to women and families throughout a woman's pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum experience. This includes emotional and physical support provided during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period.
