The State of the City is Great
It's been a very productive year for Peachtree Corners. Those who attended the annual state-of-the-city address on July 22 heard about the successes we've accomplished in our short time as a city - and they also got a glimpse of future plans for our city by the river.
Let me list some of the highlights:

Cornhole Leagues Now Forming
|
|
Registration Ends Aug. 26
The Town Green will host competitive cornhole leagues on Wednesday evenings beginning Sept. 4.
Organized by CornholeATL, the social leagues are a chance to make new friends and enjoy an entertaining sport. Register for your chance at friendly competition today - don't delay, the deadline to register is Aug. 26.

Town Center's Newest Restaurant Now Open
|
|
On Aug. 7 city and community leaders celebrated the opening of Peachtree Corners’ newest Town Center restaurant, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar. It is the California-based business’ first location to open in Georgia.
Diners will feel like they’ve stepped into a mountain lodge when they enter the new eatery which is located near the entrance to the Town Center. The interior features a large fireplace, exposed wooden beams, western-themed artwork and a chandelier crafted from logs from Aspen trees. Outside, the open-air patio has plenty of seating – and includes a fire pit surrounded by comfortable seats. Dogs on leashes are welcome on the patio.

Gwinnett Medical Center Clinic Opens
|
|
The new Gwinnett Medical Center Primary Care facility (located in the former Ippolito's space) opened on Monday, Aug. 5.
The facility offers primary care, corporate health, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, 3D mammography and digital X-ray.

National Program Offers Affordable Flood Insurance
|
As we approach the tropical storms and hurricane season, the city would like to remind you of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program which provides affordable insurance to property owners.

Labor Day Holiday Trash and Recycle Pickup Schedule
This year Labor Day is observed on Monday, Sept. 2, which means there will be no garbage and recycle pickup on this day.
All pickup days for the Labor Day holiday week will be moved forward one day. If your pickup date is Monday, it will be moved to Tuesday, those who receive service on Tuesday will have a Wednesday pickup and so fourth. Residents scheduled for Friday pickup will receive service on Saturday. This schedule change only applies to this week.

Local Business Lends Hand in Stormwater Marking Event
On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, a group of some 30 employees from Century Link, here in Peachtree Corners, volunteered their time to help the city with a stormwater marking event.

Gwinnett Property Tax Bills Due Oct. 15
|
|
The 2019 Gwinnett County property tax bills will be mailed in August and are due October 15. Please note: Peachtree Corners property owners will receive NO tax bill from the city as the city maintains a zero millage rate.
If you have an escrow account, your property tax information is made available to your mortgage company; however, it is your responsibility to ensure taxes are paid.

When 2020 Census Day arrives on April 1 of next year, U.S. residents for the first time will be able to complete their census questionnaire online.
Residents can also complete the survey by phone or by mail. Be sure to report each person living in your household. For more information visit

Tips to Keep Family, Friends Safe During Backyard Activities
As we continue to enjoy these last weeks of summer and our backyard barbecues, here are a few tips you will want to consider for the safety of friends and family:

Outdoor Storage Reminder
Open or outdoor storage of appliances, building material or debris, equipment, garbage, glass, material, merchandise, rubbish, trash or similar items shall not be permitted, maintained or stored on any premises. Items as those listed above must be stored in an enclosed structure.
Exceptions include:

Keep Grass, Lawn Clipping Out of Storm Drains
Dispose of yard debris properly. Do not allow grass clippings, landscape trimming, leaves, etc. to enter the storm drains.
Lawn clippings blown into the street find their way to storm drains, which can lead to clogged drains, localized flooding and property damage.
