Opening of Dauberman Road Extension in Big Rock

Kane County officials and local leaders recently held an event to mark the upcoming completion of the Dauberman Road Extension Project in Big Rock. The project extends Dauberman Road south over Route 30 and the BNSF railroad tracks, connecting to Granart Road. The extension is expected to open by the end of Oct. READ MORE

Geneva's Third Street Railroad Crossing to Open as Another Closes for Rail Project

The Union Pacific RR will reopen the Third Street railroad crossing on Friday, Oct. 4, after its closure for the Third Main Line project. Starting Monday, Oct. 7, construction will move to Western Avenue, closing the crossing for five weeks. Schedules may change due to weather or delays. READ MORE

Microchip Clinic of 2024

Here’s a reminder about the last Kane County Animal Control rabies vaccine clinic of 2024. On Saturday, Oct. 5, pet owners can stop by KCAC (4060 Keslinger Rd. Geneva) anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for low-cost rabies vaccines and microchipping. Pricing: Seniors (65+): $15, Neutered/spayed pets (or under 1 year): $30, Non-neutered/spayed pets: $55, Microchipping: $15. READ MORE
