Streamlined Off-Set Cupola Cabooses such as the type offered in this series were somewhat latecomers to the market, with this particular smooth-steel design (produced for the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy) entering service in the early 1960s. Designed with an elevated cupola, the cars featured raised seats to allow crews to inspect the train from above while in motion, while the space below provided room for work, cooking, and on longer runs, sleep. The Bachmann Off-Set Cupola Caboose sees the addition of two new road names representing classic paint schemes of the era. These new additions join a variety of road names already available for this fully-built model with metal wheels and
E-Z Mate® Mark II couplers.
