Tips on Smart Giving for 2021
Did you know that this is the last year to take advantage of special charitable tax incentives that were initiated by the CARES Act? Even if you do not itemize, you can deduct a cash gift of $300 (single filers) or $600 (married joint filers) to a qualified charity (That's OLLI! That's SOU!) by the end of the calendar year.  You can direct your gift to support any one of OLLI's causes (Annual Fund, Legacy Fund), as well as any SOU academic program.  Please click here for more information (PDF) on smart ways to give, or click here to visit OLLI's "Giving to OLLI" webpage.
Honoring Native American Heritage Month
OLLI joins SOU in honoring Native American Heritage Month, and announcing the adoption of acknowledgement of the land where our campus lies. We invite you to visit the official site, sou.edu/land, to read the Land Acknowledgement and learn the protocols for proper usage. This site also offers resources and additional information about Native programming taking place on the SOU campus.

SOU's Native American Studies Program welcomes OLLI members to audit courses when there are open seats. Here's the list of courses offered in winter 2022:
  • ED 355 - Teaching Native America
  • ENG 239 - Native American Myth and Culture
  • NAS 301 - Tribal Critical Race Theory
  • NAS 331 - Language Revitalization
  • NAS 368 - Queer Indigenous Studies
