Sun Prairie Utilities' New Facility

We want to be transparent with you, our customer. Our current office is not keeping up with the demands of our growing community.

To resolve this issue, we are working with Kueny Architects, the Utilities Commission, the City of Sun Prairie, and the Wisconsin Public Service Commission to design and hopefully receive approval to construct a new facility on Linnerud Drive. 

The new facility should adequately meet the needs of SPU for the next 30-50 years by providing numerous advancements to include the following:

• All-electric, LEED certified, net-zero carbon design to include solar, battery storage, EV charging, geothermal HVAC, and various other sustainability measures;
• Additional 23,000 square feet to adequately house and maintain SPU fleet and equipment;
• Ample parking for both employees and customers;
• Community meeting room for both utility and community use;
• Centralized Sun Prairie location facilitating both operations and customer accessibility.

Overall, the additional space and location will provide improved operational efficiencies both now and for the foreseeable future.

Free 'Fix a Leak Week' Kit

SPU Scholarship Deadline Nears

We are sponsoring two $1,000 scholarships for seniors at Sun Prairie High School.

To be eligible, the student must be a graduating senior and be registered full-time at a post-secondary educational institution.

Students entering line worker training will be given special consideration. The deadline to submit an application is April 1, 2023, so urge a student you know to apply today!

Everyone needs help sometimes, especially when the cost of living increases. We have compiled a list of resources that could help you meet the cost of your utility bills.

Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)

This program can help you with costs related to heating, electricity, and emergencies. Many Wisconsin households use this resource, around 225,000 every year.

Dane County Emergency Rental Assistance (Dane CORE 2.0)

This program is designed to help households struggling to pay housing costs like rent, utilities, and internet.

Sunshine Place

This nonprofit organization provides food, clothing, beds, and other vital social services. Its Emergency Assistance Program helps residents with a sudden and temporary loss of income.

If you need help, reach out and start an application as soon as possible. It may take around 4-8 weeks to process.

Sign Up for Paperless Billing

Go paperless and sign up for e-Bill notifications! Receive an email when your bill is ready and get links to view and pay your bill online.

Don't want to pay online? You can still sign up to receive emails and choose to pay in-person or through the mail.

The process is simple - log into your MyAccount, click View/Pay Bill, select Manage Bill Delivery, and enroll in email. You can return to paper billing at any time.
