Packages Stolen
The Vernon Hills Police Department is reporting packages being stolen from front porches of homes in several subdivisions. A package sitting on a front porch is too great a temptation for a thief. If at all possible, don't have packages delivered to your home unless someone will be there to receive them.
Local Police Reporting Ruse Burglaries Again

This type of burglary deals with a person identifying himself or themselves as contractors needing to get into the house to check the water pressure, or something wrong with your house, etc... Once this person is allowed entry they take you to a portion of your house and shield your view allowing others to enter your house, quickly search your rooms for items such as money and jewelry then quickly leave. Once the ruse is complete they leave, then when you go to your rooms you will notice the rooms are ransacked and items missing.
