Everything Evergreen

Hello there

August gave Evergreen a chance to rest, reset, and prepare for the new school year, however we didn't stop. We attended the Frostburg First Friday event and the Westernport Back-to-School Bash. Then, we hosted our Appalachian Evening Fundraiser and a field trip for the YMCA Family Center.

Our instructors have also been working diligently to prepare our site for upcoming programs! We're excited to welcome students from ACPS science classes back to our campus in the coming weeks, as well as host students from neighboring counties, homeschool groups, and partner organizations.

If you're interested in scheduling a field trip, program, or tour with us in the 2025-26 school year, please feel free to

email us.

Thank you to everyone who attended our

We are beginning to plan for 2026 and need your feedback! Which topics and workshops are you most interested in seeing from us?

Welcome to our newest AmeriCorps member– Logan Tokle!

Logan recently completed his B.S. in Wildlife & Fisheries from Frostburg State University. Over the summer, he worked as a Camp Counselor for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Logan has a wealth of knowledge and is eager to assist with programs, field trips, and tours.

The More You Know!

Just because the weather has begun to change, doesn't mean the growing season is over. There are plenty of cold-hearty vegetables like spinach and kale that can withstand a frost. And now is a great time to collect native seeds to prepare for winter sowing in the next few months!
