OUR SCOUTS IN ACTION...

PACK 25, SHELTON - Friday, December 10, Pack 25 was in the Holiday Spirit. Their pack meeting centered on making ornaments for Crosby Commons residence. The next day the scouts decorated the Christmas tree at Crosby Commons residence. Once completed with decorating the tree the Pack sang three songs to the residents. For more information on this idea contact Pack 25's Cubmaster Mark Sims.

THANK YOU to all our units who contribute photos and stories for "SCOUTS IN ACTION..." This section of our newsletter is dedicated to our units. Continue to submit your stories and pictures of what your unit is doing. Add a contact email so other leaders can contact you, and do what you did in their unit.
SAFETY MOMENT - DISTRACTED DRIVING

Distracted driving is considered “any activity that diverts the driver’s attention away from driving,” according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. The distractions can include a wide range of a driver’s or passenger’s personal actions or activities while in a vehicle. Even if a driver is only trying to keep Scouts in their seats while the vehicle is in motion, that is a distraction.

Scouts and their parents expect all Boy Scouts of America activities to be conducted safely. To ensure the safety of participants, the Boy Scouts of America expects leaders to use the four points of SAFE when delivering the Scouting program.

YOU ONLY NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE ADVANCEMENT PORTION OF THE EVENT. IF YOU ARE COMING TO SEE SANTA, PLAN TO ARRIVE 3:15 PM TO MEET SANTA AND SING HOLIDAY SONGS.
TRINITY SOLAR CAN ASSIST YOUR UNIT

The Housatonic Council has a partnership with Trinity Solar and it can help the families, scouts and your troop.

Trinity Solar has offered to contribute:

  • A consultation is a meeting with the homeowner and a solar pro that will explain how it all works, what the savings will be and see if the home qualifies for the no cost program. The $100 is earned whether they go solar or not.

  • $1000 to the Council for every installation that they get from your efforts.
  • $ 500 of that will be deposited directly into your troop/unit account.
  • $ 500 will be used for operating costs and to go back into supporting the scouts.
