Our 89
th
Season is set to open with a dazzling romantic comedy, William Shakespeare’s
Twelfth Night
on September 28
th
(preview performance on the 27
th
). This is Shakespeare at his brilliant best with all of the elements of rich comedy (fools and clowns), mistaken identity (why
is
she dressed like a man?), and true love conquering all.
Classic characters, a brilliant cast and inspired direction by Jennifer LeBlanc will assure audiences of a sparkling, funny and unforgettable time with The Bard, in this family-friendly production. The Ross Valley Players are excited to bring you (here’s the groundbreaking part) our first Shakespeare play.
Performances on Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Special events during the run include the Subscriber Reception at 7pm on Friday, 9/28, beverages and bites for audiences attending on Saturday, 9/29, and talkbacks with Director and Cast following matinees on Sundays 10/7 and 10/14.
You will see some changes inside the Barn when you attend. Our old seating has been removed and new, more generously-spaced and easily accessible platforms have been installed for our audience. Entrances from the lobby have been re-structured. The floor has been sanded and re-stained.
The new seating arrangement
means we will have fewer seats for each performance – about 50 less than the more crowded arrangement in the past. It may become more difficult to seat those without reservations for some performances, so please be sure to call ahead to assure your seats will be waiting for you. Reservations can be made by calling 415-569-9555 at any time.
Our new and more comfortable seats were ordered and had been due to arrive and be installed in late August. That didn’t happen due to a delay in the manufacturing process beyond our control. We were informed of this at the very last moment and are hoping for delivery soon. Once here, installation will only take a few days. SO, at least during the beginning of our first show we will need to make due with temporary seating, which we will make as comfortable as possible. The temporary seats will still deliver easier access to each row, better sight lines,, more leg room, and our promise of even better to come soon.
