A little bit about Kit.
What inspires your work?
Like a child painting outside the lines my art is always being reinvented. I feel that painting is my life's work.
How did you develop your current style?
My Mother was an artist and my Brother went to art college. I started painting after closing my hair salon. I taught art to adults through the City of London, Parks & Recreation Program, for 5 years. I have been a member of the Lambeth Art Association and the St. Thomas Art Guild for many years, participating in their shows and activities. I was a partner in Portside Art Gallery in Port Stanley until it closed in 2019.
Are there any specific artists or movements that influence you?
I don't limit myself to a style. My art is changing as time goes by. I paint in acrylic, oils, pastel, ink and sculpt in papier-mache. I enjoy telling stories about my life and the people that I know. Sometimes I paint myself as it's hard to get models. Now, I am inspired by the artists that I know from my art groups and ArtwithPanache Gallery.
Kit is available for pet and people commission pieces.
