The Tree Man, always a popular draw at the annual festival, was back this year. The 2021 festival was held for the first time at the Town Center. There was plenty of arts & crafts booths, good food, car show and music.

Bio Tech, Life Science Industry Expanding in Our City
These businesses are dedicated to improving our health.
The life science sector continues to grow at an astounding pace. We can see it in our own backyard. Not only does the city have a tremendous network of software, engineering and fintech companies, it is also home to a number of bio tech and life science laboratories.
We recognize that these “targeted businesses” in fields such as technology and life sciences bring high-level jobs to the city and are especially beneficial to the overall community.

City Elections Set for Nov. 2
Three council seats are up for election in Peachtree Corners, Post 2, 4 and 6. Qualifying for the November 2, 2021 municipal elections took place Aug. 16 – 18 at City Hall.
The Post 2 and 6 incumbents will run unopposed. The Post 4 incumbent has one challenger. For information on the candidates, visit the city’s website, www.peachtreecornersga.gov; under the “Residents” tab, click on the link marked “Elections” then select “Candidates” in the column on the left.
All city (municipal) elections take place at Peachtree Corners City Hall, 310 Technology Parkway, Peachtree Corners, regardless of polling places for county, state or federal elections. Read More

City Welcomes New Communications Director, Long-time Director Retiring
Peachtree Corners welcomed Mr. Louis E. Svehla as the city’s new Director of Communications. This announcement follows the retirement of long-time, respected Communications Director, Ms. Judy Putnam, who has served the city since 2014.
Svehla joins the Peachtree Corners team, bringing with him a wealth of experience in journalism, communication, community and governmental relations. Svehla most recently served as the Public Information Manager for the Walton County Board of County Commissioners, in DeFuniak Springs, FL. Read More

Drop Off Old Electronics for Free at New Recycling Center
Disposing of old computers and other electronics has just become easier for Peachtree Corners’ residents and businesses.
Ecycle Atlanta, an electronics recycling business, has just opened and accepts nearly 100 different items, there is no charge for recycling. Read More

Street Racing is Illegal in Georgia
Report incidents to Gwinnett Co. Police Department
Street racing is illegal and dangerous. If you see such activity, report it immediately to the Gwinnett County Police Department by calling 911.
GCPD cannot respond to incidents of street racing unless they are reported. If you want police to investigate, and track down the illegal activity, you must contact them directly.
"Residents should contact 911 immediately so that we can respond and take the appropriate enforcement action regarding these street-racing incidents," said West Precinct Commander, Maj. Edward Restepo.
Remember, if you see something, say something. Call 911.

Take the PTC Decathlon Challenge
Peachtree Corners is holding its first decathlon athletic competition on Saturday, Nov. 6 at its Path to Fitness facility which is located in the wooded area adjacent to the Town Green. Here are the details:
84 participants will compete in 10 events at the Town Green Path to Fitness with an award ceremony to be held at Anderby Brewing.

Who: men and women age 18 and older.

When: Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021.

Start Time: rolling start every 5 minutes beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

Where: Peachtree Corners Town Green (Path to Fitness), 5140 Town Center Blvd.

Length: 50 minutes.

City's Recycle-Shredding Event Set for Oct. 9
A free electronics recycling and paper shredding event for residents will take place at Peachtree Corners City Hall, 310 Technology Parkway on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, from 9 a.m. to noon--or UNTIL TRUCKS ARE FULL.
This event is open to PTC residents only. Residents are invited to recycle electronics and shred unwanted documents. The city has hired Proshred and eWaste-ePlanet for the event. GATES OPEN AT 9.A.M.

Take a Journey Back in Time, Learn About the Nesbits, the Medlocks and Many Who Settled in the new Community So Many Years Ago
Long before the new city of Peachtree Corners was founded, the region was a farming community, dating back many years before such inventions as electricity and automobiles.
That history has been captured in the community’s first history book, Peachtree Corners, the History of an Innovative and Remarkable City 1777-2020. The 230-page coffee table-style book is filled with stories and photos of long ago.
The book is now available for purchase through the city's online store.

Do not toss bags and boxes in the glass recycle receptacle.
- FYI the recycle container is removed every other Wednesday to be emptied and to take care of any maintenance needed.

City Launches Grant Program to aid Businesses, Nonprofits Impacted by COVID-19
|
|
The City of Peachtree Corners has launched four separate grant programs to assist businesses and nonprofits whose operations have been severely impacted as a result of COVID-19.
Through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 which was signed into law on March 11, 2021 by President Biden (H.R. 1319), the city will receive $16.4 million which will be given to qualified small businesses and nonprofits that suffered economic hardships due to the impact of COVID-19.
The intention is to help businesses remain open and operating and keep Peachtree Corners’ residents employed and to aid nonprofits serving the community with operational funding. Read More

City Welcomes French-American Chamber to its New Curiosity Lab Offices
Mayor Mike Mason and City Manager Brian Johnson welcomed some 100 guests and took part in a ribbon-cutting event on Sept. 9 to celebrate the opening of the French-American Chamber of Commerce’s (FACC-Atlanta) new offices in the Curiosity Lab Innovation Center.
FACC-Atlanta had announced earlier this year plans to relocate its offices to Peachtree Corners. The move was combined with the announcement that La French Tech Atlanta, a French government-supported ecosystem of startups, investors, decision-makers, and community builders – will expand collaboration with Peachtree Corners as they guide companies looking to develop technologies and expand into North America. Here are some things to consider before hiring an unlicensed individual or company.
1. Don't do it -- it is against Georgia state law for an unlicensed person to seek contracts in HVAC installations without a state license. Read More

Where May Temporary Signs be Placed
All temporary signage is prohibited from being placed in the City of Peachtree Corners right-of-way.
Generally, when installing temporary signage, it should be placed at least 10 feet from the back of curb or behind utility poles if the utility poles are greater than 10 feet from the curb.

Keep Autumn Leaves Out of the Storm Drain
For many, the easy solution to clear their lawn is by raking or blowing the leaves into the street and therefore, directly into a stormwater inlet such as a catch basin or curb inlet.
Why this is a bad idea:
Leaves and other landscaping debris can ultimately lead to localized flooding and damage to property and infrastructure.
