City of Milpitas – Office of Economic Development
New Small Business Assistance Dollars

D ear Business Representatives,

On April 21, 2020 we sent a message related to the United States Senate passing a new economic stimulus package for $484 billion. On April 24, 2020, the President signed into law the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, which provides critical additional funding for American workers and small businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic. If you did not receive funding from the initial Paycheck Protection Program, you have another opportunity to receive financial help now.

The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) will resume accepting Paycheck Protection Program applications from participating lenders on Monday, April 27, 2020 at 7:30 am (PST).  With the additional funding provided by the new COVID-19 relief package, SBA will also resume processing Emergency Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and EIDL Advance applications that are already in the queue on a “first come, first served” basis. We recommend that you apply as soon as possible through the www.sba.gov website .

The Office of Economic Development recognizes that, as a small business owner, you are focused on resiliency, recovery and helping people get back to work. We are here to support you and your business during this difficult time, so if you need anything, send us a message anytime via BusinessAssistance@ci.milpitas.ca.gov .

In community spirit,
Alex
