Hello Church!

I guess the old adage is true, absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder!  We miss each other!  We miss the hugs, handshakes, and fist-bumps.  Fortunately, we're able to remain spiritually close while still adhering to social distancing guidelines.  Our goal during this time is to keep you informed and connected. When we have updates and information, we will send emails.  When you have ideas of how we can church together while apart, please let us know!

  • Thanks to everyone who continues to support our Couch Outreach efforts, where we are committed to Reaching Out while Staying In. Our Pizza & Hope efforts have pivoted from providing pizza for a group of unhoused people to offering financial assistance to organizations providing hands on aid to individuals and families. Two outstanding organizations have been scheduled to receive funds from us: A Red Circle Nonprofit Organization (providing groceries, diapers, supplies, etc. to families in North County) and PotBangerz - Feed The Body Mission (Mama Cat and volunteers cooking and delivering delicious meals to unhoused folks each week). As we Stay In & Reach Out, these kinds of financial gifts are the most effective way for us to help right now. If you wish to donate to these efforts, please go to www.newsongstl.org and choose Pizza & Hope in the donate section.
  • Additionally, we are purchasing and/or delivering cases of bottled water to the group of organizations that are distributing 20-30 cases a day to unhoused people in St. Louis.  If you are interested and able to help with this, please contact Twila for more info.
  • New Song Youth will have a zoom get together with Rex and Sally next Thursday evening, June 25.  If you have questions, please contact Rex.
  • A group of New Song Women will begin a zoom book study tomorrow.  We have chosen to read and discuss "So you want to talk about race" by Ijeoma Oluo. If you are interested in participating in a Bible or book group study online, please contact Twila for more info.
  • Rex's personal writings, Priming the Pump, is now available at pumpsandprayers.com!  Please head over and take a look!
  • Save the Date! On October 3, New Song Youth and Adults will (hopefully) host a table at the Pride St. Charles Festival.  We are seeking ideas for a fun activity and small item to give to people stopping by the table.  Parents, please ask your teens for ideas!  And, if you are interested in participating in this outreach to our LGBTQ+ neighbors and friends, please contact Rex or Twila.  More info can be found HERE.
These are hard times.  God calls us to love and to stay on the side of the oppressed. Above all,

Keep fighting for justice so there can be peace
Keep being a light in this world full of darkness
Keep working for a better future for our children
Keep praying with your hands and feet

And don't forget to tune in each Saturday night for Worship at Home!
