It’s a wrap! The Diocese of West Missouri’s first (and hopefully only) online Annual Convention is now over. The 131st Annual Convention of The Diocese of West Missouri was held on Saturday, November 7. Read all about it...

  • Of the four resolutions brought before the convention, three were approved–some with minor tweaking to their language–and one was rejected. You can read the resolutions, as approved, here.

Kansas City police use violence against constitutional non-violent civil disobedience

The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department used unconstitutional violence against non-violent persons protesting the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. The non-violent protesters were engaging in acts of civil disobedience that are protected by the First Amendment. Laws that allow persons to be arrested for constitutional acts of civil disobedience that do not damage property, injure, or kill persons must be repealed.

Ordination of Lynda Ann Hurt & Isaac Ross Petty to The Sacred Order of Deacons
.
On Monday, November 16, 2020, at 6:30 p.m., God willing, Lynda Ann Hurt and Isaac Ross Petty will be ordained into the Sacred Order of Deacons.

We are very sorry, but attendance in person will be strictly limited to people essential for the performance of the ordinations.
Youth Events
November 14
Journey Through Prayer. The day will start in the WEMO Youth Community Zoom Room at 10 a.m. with an opening service and introduction to the rest of the event. Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to participate in as many mini-sessions as you would like. Each session will focus on different ways to pray: creating a sacred space, meditation, prayer through art history, storytelling, prayer beads, journaling, and more.
