Hi Northland Family, 

My name is Sherri Jones, and I’m new to both the City of Houston and to the Northland Christian School staff! In my role as Director of Marketing, I’ll be helping to create a brand at NCS that current members of our community are proud to share with their family and friends and prospective students find irresistible.
For starters, here are 3 semi-random (but valuable) things about me as we get to know each other:

  1. I was born and raised in New Jersey. I relocated over 1,600 miles to be part of this unique community.
  2. I’ve worked in marketing for over T-E-N years. 
  3. My parents valued education, and I’ve seen first-hand how quality education can change your life; this is why working in a school setting has always been a dream of mine. 

Most importantly, I want you all to know that I count it an honor and a privilege to join this vibrant community of students, parents, faculty, and staff! When I first stepped on the campus over a month ago, I was amazed at how engaging, friendly, and high-energy everyone was. From attending a PTO fundraising event to popping into some classrooms, I always felt welcomed and amazed at the unique culture of NCS. 

The #1 goal in my new position is to help share the countless stories that lie within each classroom, in the middle of each sporting event, and within all of your hearts with the world! Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to serve you in this capacity.

Enough about me, there are some amazing new projects in the works at NCS, and over the next few weeks, I’ll be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at some of the changes you can expect to see. Trust me, they are MAJOR!
When members of our NCS community speak, we listen! Over the next few months, as you walk around campus, you’ll begin to see some changes that will improve the quality of student life, give everyone something to look forward to, and mend us together as we transition back to in-person community engagement. We’re not going to spoil all the surprises at once, so you’ll have to make sure you stay connected with us to be the first to know what’s happening.
The first exciting thing is that we’re having a brand new, top-of-the-line track installed! It’s not just any track either; it’s the BSS 300, the track of choice used at top universities like Harvard, Baylor, and Rice University. This World Athletics Certified track surface will not only look better, but it will be better for the health and safety of our students as well. Here are the highlights:

  • The material used is proven to be better on the knees and ankles, making sure to preserve the joints from unnecessary wear and tear.
  • It’s a weather-safe surface, so when it gets wet it’ll still have the traction needed to keep our students safe.
  • It’ll last us a long time! Although a hefty investment, this track is built to withstand it all.

Construction on the new track will begin this May and we’ll keep you posted on the progress. Make sure you’re following our official Facebook and Instagram pages so you can see all the footage!
